So we know Misery's mom has gray-blue hair these days and is almost fourty years old. So at the age of fourty to make her eightteen when she had Misery that would have been 1985. Or perhaps she's a bit younger, pushing her late teens up to 1989, making her thirty-six in FantaSize.
FantaSize takes place in 2006. That's the year episode one was released, and from there on out, it's the year I've set the story in. It's fun to turn back the clock and try to keep that accurate year represented as well as I can. Probably, much like Misery's marks under her eyes, I'll probably forget something at some point or another.
Let's start with goth Loretta there on the left. She would be about twenty-two having had Misery four years earlier. With that concept, black would be her natural hair color. I thought it would be ironic to have Loretta be goth back in the day, then end up having Misery end up being goth/emo/whatever she is in the future.
The middle one would focus on Loretta's roots in the 1970's. Taking a que from her mother, she stuck with her hippy upbringing and instead had natural blonde hair. Resisting the crazy styles of the 80's, Loretta was still a hippy girl by the end of high school when she became pregnant with her daughter.
Lastly on the far right is a brief attempt at 80's Loretta. I'm not too sure how much I like her, just because she deviates from looking traditionally like Loretta. If you didn't know it was her, you'd probably assume otherwise. Which could be good or bad, considering a reaction of Misery looking at a photo saying, "THAT'S my mom?" would be a cliché goal, but otherwise she looks a little out there. This Loretta would have been born in the late 1960's to be eightteen like the image above in 1985.
All of these concepts are just for fun. Really I don't know yet what Loretta was like in her youth for sure. I just thought I'd share these images with all of you. What do you think?
* Please note. If I mixed up my math here at all, just work from Misery being eightteen in 2006 and work backward from there lol. Or was that nineteen... where are my notes lol. Either way, she's one of those two in FantaSize 1.
